I wish to let you know that in view of the Coronavirus situation I have switched to counselling sessions on Skype, WhatsApp and Telephone. I practice General Counselling, CBT, Youth Counselling and Bereavement Counselling.

Perhaps you’re looking at my website because you think counselling may be able to help either you or someone you know. You are very welcome to my site and I hope you will find what you are looking for here.image

Perhaps you feel anxious or depressed. Maybe you are grieving, feeling stressed, lonely or afraid. Maybe something traumatic has happened in your life that’s thrown you off balance. A counsellor can help you restore your feeling of wellbeing.

Counselling is a process. It begins by helping people who may be struggling to cope with a problem or situation to open up and talk. It also helps people to understand why they think, feel and behave the way they do. A good counsellor is able to facilitate people to process their feelings and discover how to help themselves to feel better and move on with their lives.

Whatever the problem it’s good to talk to someone who won’t judge you; someone who is compassionate and has the skills to help you feel better and move forward. The key to successful counselling is the relationship between you and your counsellor; it’s very important that you feel comfortable and able to trust her/him. You need to feel safe and to know that everything you say is strictly confidential.

I’m Registered and Accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and people come to see me mainly through my website, word of mouth, GP recommendation and BACP online.
I have additional qualifications in CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), Bereavement Counselling and T/A (Transactional Analysis) which I’m also able to use to help people when appropriate. I practice counselling face to face, on the telephone and online. You can find all my details on my contact page. You can also read my Blog page and my Ask Gerri problem page if you wish by clicking on the links.

I’m based in Burley in Wharfedale near Ilkley and my fee is £40 per session for individuals. The initial session is free of charge.

You can call me on 07758 468 231 and there are more contact details on the contact page.

If you think you may like to try counselling please feel free to call or email me; just click on the contact link for details. The initial session, which is free of charge, is an opportunity for us to meet and for you to decide whether you think counselling is right for you.

You may be interested in my blog about counselling and how it works; you will find it on my blog page along with blogs about other counselling related topics you may find interesting. Also, I publish (anonymously) frequent Ask Gerri letters, so if you have something to ask please mail me using the form at the bottom of the Ask Gerri page.
